About the founder

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Florida, Wilfred Torres grew up in a low-income family; led by a “hard-working single mom.” Through the journey of life, he has witnessed the reality of needing assistance under difficult circumstances such as language barriers, financial deprivation, and the lack of community awareness. A graduate of the Taylor Leadership Institute from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in Community Development and Organizing, Wilfred Torres, is an AmeriCorps Alumni on behalf of the Corporation for National and Community Service. He is dedicated to making the world become a better place, serving with the principle to provide resources where resources are not available. His passion is shared through the establishment of the brand Wegotchu Enterprises™ (2015) which has evolved into a community-based nonprofit organization known as Wegotchu Enterprises™ NPO, Inc. With an honor to lead by example it is Wilfred’s privilege to welcome you to Wegotchu™ Learning Academy.
